All participants of the TKC45 Kendo Tournament and Seminar must complete and submit a waiver prior to the event. Please ensure this is done for each individual participant, including juniors.
Canadian Kendo Federation (CKF) membership is not required as this is an international event
The kendo seminar is for bogu-level practitioners only
Q: Can I watch the seminar without participating?
A: Family and friends are welcome to observe the seminar. However, kendoka with bogu must participate rather than spectate.
Q: For Senior Mixed Teams - is there a cap per dojo?
A: No, however, we are monitoring registrations and if we find a larger number of entries than originally anticipated, we will reach out to clubs that have registered more than 2 teams in any respective team category.
Q: Are bento lunches for Shinpan only for those who volunteer as Shinpan?
A: Shinpan 6Dan and higher will have bento for free. For players, the cost will be adjusted accordingly. 6D+ Shinpan (non-player) volunteers for the day will also have their bento covered.
Q: For youth participants, how are they categorized by age - tournament date or birth year?
A: Birth year
Q: Will shinai inspection be conducted?
A: Yes, for All Adult Individual & Team Categories, and High School Jr. Category - U19.
Q: Will there be individual matches for youth?
A: At this time, we will only have teams for Juniors. If registrations are lower than anticipated, we may include Junior individual categories.
